Students enroll at BYU seeking an environment that supports their efforts to live the principles of their faith. They view the Honor Code as empowering, because it allows them to focus on their studies and wholesome recreation without distraction.
BYU's focus on undergraduate education has led to mentored learning, a program that allows students to work as partners with faculty on research. The university is No. 8 in the nation for the number of undergraduates who go on to earn doctoral degrees.
Approximately 55 faculty members and 80 students actively use BYU's supercomputer lab on projects, including short animated films that won six "student Emmys" between 2004 and 2007, as well as studies of the rate of ice melting in the polar regions.
The Mtn. will broadcast the game Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (MT) when No. 19 travels to face San Diego State, hoping to finish a second undefeated season.
