THRISSUR, JAN. 2. The writer Vysakhan has said that late Thuchath Ezhuthachan was a revolutionary who opposed the socially-discriminatory practices of the upper castes. Mr. Vysakhan was participating in a seminar organised by the All Kerala Ezhuthachan Samajam's Ezhuthachan study-research centre in connection with the death anniversary of the Malayalam writer Thuchath Ezhuthachan here today. Thuchath Ezhuthachan could effectively tap the potentials of the Bhakthi movement and some of the contents of the Aryan texts in his efforts to end the disparities in the society, Mr Vysakhan said. The historian, Velayudhan Panikkassery, who presented the theme paper said the Ezhuthachan community had inherited the rich traditions of Buddhism and Jainism, and the birth of Thuchath Ezhuthachan had enhanced the stature of the community. The Samajam president and actor, T. G. Ravi, presided over the meeting. Gangadharan Chengalur, T. B. Vijayakumar, P. R. Suresh, M. K. Ramachandran, Rajan Elavathur, P. G. Karappan Master and K. K.
