PM Modi says 'INDI alliance discredited, dejected' after Phase 5, expresses gratitude to voters

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Tuesday that the INDI alliance is "discredited and dejected," while expressing gratitude to all who voted in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 20. He emphasized that the people of India have chosen to support a strong National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the INDI alliance is "discredited and dejected" while expressing gratitude to everyone who voted in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections held on May 20. He added that the people of India have chosen to support a strong National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre.
PM Modi conveyed his appreciation on his social media account, X, saying, "ratitude to all those who voted in the 5th phase of the 2024 elections which concluded yesterday.The wave of support for NDA is getting stronger and stronger. The people of India have decided that they want a strong NDA government at the Centre."
He further added, "INDI Alliance can try any sort of votebank politics, the people will not believe them. They are totally discredited and dejected."

The fifth phase of polling covered 49 parliamentary constituencies across six states and two Union Territories (UTs) on Monday, with a voter turnout of 60.09 percent by 11:30 pm, according to the Election Commission (ECI).
The fifth phase saw 60.3% voter turnout (at 11.45pm), as against 62.5% in 2019, with West Bengal registering the highest polling of 74.7% and Maharashtra witnessing the least at 54.3%.
With the completion of phase 5, polling for the General Elections 2024 has now been completed in 25 States/UTs and 428 parliamentary constituencies. Additionally, polling is complete for the State Legislative Assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, and 63 assembly seats of the Odisha State Assembly.

The sixth phase of polling is scheduled for May 25 in 58 parliamentary constituencies, including the adjourned poll in Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, across 8 States/UTs.
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being conducted in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. The counting and results will be declared on June 4.
