Making a difference starts in the Twin Cities. At Macalester, the Community Engagement Center is a hub dedicated to connecting students, faculty, and community partners who collaborate on community-based scholarship and service for a more just and sustainable community.

Macalester’s long-standing community partners and local alums offer students numerous opportunities to participate in the local community through community-based learning experiences and reciprocal relationships. Remembering Rondo

History department faculty and students joined with Rondo Avenue, Inc., for a neighborhood “History Harvest Celebration” to create a digital archive of artifacts from Rondo, St. Paul’s historically African American neighborhood that was divided by interstate highway construction in the 1960s.
