He is immediately taken with the beauty of young Peggy McCooey and proclaims himself to be a "Butler." Mrs. McCooey misunderstands and Dick soon finds himself working as a servant to the family. He uses the opportunity to foil the attempts of crooked stockbroker John Clayton to ruin Mr. McCooey in the market and to thwart a pair of burglars in the broker's employ.
