Kelsey Plum is sharing a faith-forward mindset in the wake of her divorce from Darren Waller.

In an interview with Fox affiliate KVVU-TV, the WNBA All-Star said she was “super-grateful” amid the breakup of her one-year marriage to the New York Giants tight end.

“The offseason’s been tough for me,” the 29-year-old told reporter Paloma Villicana. “I’m sure, everyone knows, it’s pretty public, but for me, I’m super-grateful. I think my faith has grown tremendously. And not just that but I know who I am, and like, you kind of get refined by fire.”

With the regular season of the WNBA beginning next week, the Las Vegas Aces guard is turning her attention to defending the team’s back-to-back titles.

“I’m excited about this season, I’m excited about Las Vegas, try to run it back again,” Plum said. “And I know that our fans are with us, I know that this organization is with us, I know that our team is as tight as we’ve ever been and so we really embody the Aces vs everybody.”

Plum’s perspective comes two weeks after the news that she and Waller, 31, filed a joint petition in Clark County, Nevada to divorce, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Just after the filing, Plum shared a heartbreaking message on social media.

"I'm devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it's time to go," she wrote on Instagram Stories.

"God has given me an incredible life, and I'm truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends," the California native added.

Waller and Plum began dating when he played for the Las Vegas Raiders. They reportedly dated for about a year before tying the knot on March 4, 2023.

Shortly after they wed, Waller was traded across the country to the New York Giants.

Along with the start of the WNBA season, Plum is busy anticipating another exciting summertime event — hopefully playing for Team USA at the Paris Olympics.
