Beauty and brains and talent for days. Meet Ashton Bray, performance director for—and cast member of—Fantasy: The Strip’s Sexiest Tease at Luxor.
Beauty and brains shined bright as she attended Oklahoma City University, where she earned a fine arts degree and was also crowned Miss Black Oklahoma in 2008. Talent came through when she sharpened her skills as a professional dancer, and while she thought she was Broadway bound, she ended up in Las Vegas in 2011. She booked her first show on her very first audition and by 2012 she joined the cast of Fantasy.
Not only does Bray dance in the show six days a week, she oversees day-to-day operations, mentors new cast members and is the go-between the cast and crew. “Fantasy is special because it’s approachable,” she says. “It’s not overly sexual. It’s very fun. ... We’re a new-age showgirl show. We really try to have variety in our cast. Everyone is their own star.”
Onstage, Bray gives off “a mature vibe since I’m older. I’m really comfortable onstage with a large, elegant presence.”
When she’s not onstage, you can find Bray spending time with her two dogs, gardening, cooking vegan meals and hosting friends at her home. But it’s really being onstage that she loves. “Performing—someone is going to have to give me the tap to get me off the stage one day,” she says, smiling. “There’s nothing like performing.”
