Our Flipbook technology revolutionizes how users interact with digital publications, offering an immersive and engaging reading experience. We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Software Developer with the option to assume a Tech Lead position (without people management responsibilities) to join our Flipbook Technology Team, responsible for developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers this innovative platform.
What You Will Do
- As a Senior Backend Software Developer / Tech Lead on the Flipbook Technology Team, you will take on a leadership role in the development and maintenance of the backend systems that support our Flipbook technology.
- While primarily focusing on technical contributions, you will also have the opportunity to provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team, driving innovation and excellence in our engineering practices.
- Technical Leadership: Lead by example, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation
- Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services and APIs that power the flipbook technology, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Architecture Design: Collaborate with team members to design scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems, considering factors such as scalability, reliability, and security.
- Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines to maintain high code quality and system reliability.
- Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and areas for optimization in the backend infrastructure, implementing solutions to improve system efficiency and responsiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality features and enhancements to the flipbook platform.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in backend development, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements and technical advancements within the team.
What You Bring With You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in designing and building robust, high-volume production systems
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Rust or Node.js.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Solid understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a passion for teamwork and knowledge sharing.
