A little bit of history

Stratford-upon-Avon is an ancient market town founded by the Saxons in the Middle Ages, later made famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare in 1564 – it’s still possible to visit the half-timbered house on Henley Street where the Bard was born, which is now a museum.

The town of Stratford has a friendly, community feel and offers everything from elegant period homes to large bespoke new-build homes. Stratford-upon-Avon has grown in popularity over the last 20 years with those looking to both live and work in the local area whilst being surrounded by green open spaces for weekend walks. The general area caters well to the family market with an abundance of larger properties for sale. The surrounding villages have a lovely atmosphere, with an enviable selection of local amenities on your doorstep and a vibrant café culture. The Swan Theatre
