We build extensions and tools on top of Postgres to enable developers to keep more of their workloads inside the database framework they love and trust: Postgres. Thanks to its extensibility and strong open-source community, Postgres is already much more than a transactional database today. Yet, there are still areas where developers reluctantly need to move outside the Postgres ecosystem into vendor-locked systems like Elasticsearch to support common workloads.
At ParadeDB, we believe in open-source and disapprove of vendor lock-in. This is why we're building and open-sourcing full-text search and real-time analytics inside Postgres. We plan to continue upskilling Postgres until every workload has a competitive Postgres equivalent.
