DANVILLE, Ill. (WCCU) — The city of Danville hopes to soon be demolishing one of its landmarks.
The city council has approved $4 million to go toward the destruction of Collins Tower.
Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr., said the building has become a hazard to drivers and buildings nearby because it has deteriorated so much that chunks of the building fall off.
The building's fate will be decided in court as the city looks to have it and other buildings in town destroyed with the money.
