ESPN’s iconic college football pregame show, College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, will travel to Athens, Ga., on Saturday, Sept. 28, for its three-hour show of features and analysis on ESPN at 9 a.m. The set will originate from Myers Quad on the campus of the University of Georgia, site of the much-anticipated SEC matchup of undefeated LSU (3-0), ranked No. 6 in the country, against the Aaron Murray-led No. 9 Georgia Bulldogs (2-1).

Hosted by Chris Fowler, the GameDay crew consists of analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack with reporting by Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, Scott Van Pelt and Gene Wojciechowski. It will be the first time Pollack has visited his alma mater as a member of the College GameDay team. A defensive end at Georgia, Pollack was just the second Bulldog to be named a three-time All-American. His accolades included 2002 SEC Player of the Year honors, the 2003 and 2004 Ted Hendricks Award and (all in 2004): the Chuck Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award, Lott Trophy and SEC Defensive Player of the Year.  Pollack joined ESPN in 2009 and has been a regular on GameDay since 2011.

It is the third visit to Athens – and first since 2008 — for the show, now in its 27th season. The two previous visits: September 27, 2008 (No. 8 Alabama defeated No. 3 Georgia, 41-30) and October 10, 1998 (No. 5 Tennessee defeated No. 7 Georgia, 22-3).

In addition, several studio shows will have live hits from Athens on Friday, including SportsCenter and College Football Live (5 p.m. on ESPN2).

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
