ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot – college football’s longest-running and most-celebrated pregame show – will make its third appearance at the storied annual showdown between Army and Navy, this year in Baltimore on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Emmy Award-winning show will close out its regular season from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in a special two-hour edition (9-11 a.m. ET).

The six-time Emmy Award-winning show is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Lee CorsoKirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard as well as contributors Chris ‘The Bear’ FallicaSamantha PonderTom Rinaldi and Gene Wojciechowski.

College Football Live will air from the set on Friday with Ponder, Herbstreit and Pollack (1:30 p.m., ESPN).

Corso Facts:
Corso began making his entertaining end-of-show headgear pick of the team he thinks will win the game at the GameDay site, marking 20 years this season. Week 15 will be headgear number 290 for Corso, as he is 191-98 all-time in headgear picks. The phenomenon began on October 5, 1996, prior to the Ohio State-Penn State game in Columbus, Ohio, when he put on OSU’s “Brutus Buckeye” mascot head to show his pick to win the game – watch here.

  • He has put on Navy headgear three times – in each of the last two years’ wins over Army and he also represented Navy at the end of the show on November 11, 2012 – when it originated from the USS San Diego.
  • Corso has never picked Army.
  • He is 8-5 on headgear picks this year and has lost three of his last five.

‘The Bear’ College GameDay Fun Facts:

  • This is the third consecutive year GameDay has originated from the site of the Army-Navy game.
  • GameDay originated from West Point once – September 27, 2003 for the USF vs. Army game – but for the only time in history, the show from site had to be cancelled mid-show due to lightning. The game was played later that day and USF won 28-0.
  • GameDay has never originated from Annapolis.

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
