Nullius in verba

I’m a part of this post truth world.[1] Academics, politicians, old media, new media, social media, you (dear reader) and I are responsible for making the distinction between fact and fiction. Don’t take my word. Lets’s talk about it.

  • I am busy translating this article about Jonathan Jansen.Little surprised that I cant’t get any translation assistance though.

Published Articles

After joining WMSA for their AGM in 2023, I learned about their Wiki Loves SA library campaign. [2] I hooked up with the wonderful peeps at Randburg Library, and we started a monthly Wikipedia meetup (led by Bobby and hosted by Matete). I also was inspired to create the Parkview Library page. After several speedy deletes, my page was finally published. I am pleased to have added an info box. I showed the article to Sissy and Portia and asked them to take over.

I finished up a short DH-OER project and noticed that the organizational sponsor, SADILaR was not on Wikipedia. I knew that they would be doing Wikipedia workshops, and so I authored the following piece that was viewed and approved by Menno. Since this article was published a number of translations have been made.

  • I discovered to my surprise that South Africa has a state owned newspaper, Vuk’uzenzele. It’s only us city folk who don’t know about it though.
  • The USAf (universities in South Africa) group of 26 vice chancellor’s had a vague Wikipedia page. I have added more details. VC are also facing a massive challenge.
  • I was invited to a job interview with Higher_health, and so I decided to find out about them before the interview and then shared the article with them. I did not get the job, (and neither di I receive thanks). I still have not found someone to review this article
