As of 2003, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia covers the City of Philadelphia as well as Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties, Pennsylvania.
The Diocese of Philadelphia, established in 1808, became an Archdiocese in 1875.
