Somaliland has a multi-party system, with three official parties. A single party often does not have win power alone, so the parties must instead form coalition governments. Somaliland's constitution limits the number of political parties to three.

- Peace, Unity, and Development Party (Kulmiye Nabad, Midnimo iyo horumar, also known as Solidarity / The Gathering / Union and Development), The party Chairman is Muse Bihi Abdi.
- For Justice and Development (Ururka Caddaalada iyo Daryeelka, also known as the Justice and Welfare Party). The party Chairman is Faysal Ali Warabe.
- Waddani (Wadaani). The party chairman is Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi.
