==History==
In 1914 Eugenio Marinella decided to open a shop in Piazza Vittoria on [[Riviera di Chiaia]], in Naples. Gradually, the boutique becomes a point of reference for elegance. In the 1980s the name Marinella began to land outside the Italian borders thanks to the President of the Republic [[Francesco Cossiga]] who took the habit of bringing a box containing five Marinella ties as a gift to the heads of state on his official visits.<ref name=":r22">{{cite web|url=https://www.fashionaut.it/fashion/cravatte-marinella/|title = Cravatte Marinella: storia di uno dei marchi storici Made in Naples|author =fashionaut.it|date=January 14, 2020|language=it|format=}}</ref>
Eugenio and then Luigi Marinella personally went to England to choose the fabrics for their ties and shirts. The whole boutique in Naples was made by Eugenio Marinella with English materials, including the door jambs.<ref name=":r822">{{cite web|url=https://www.ilgiornale.it/news/tutto-cominci-102-anni-fa-questa-marinella-storia-vera-1327411.html|title = Tutto cominciò 102 anni fa...Questa di Marinella è la storia vera|author =ilgiornale.it|date=November 5, 2016|language=it}}</ref>
