Automobile maker Ford Motor Corporation was founded by Henry Ford, who radically reformed the methods for large-scale manufacturing of cars. He implemented the ideas of Eli Whitney, who developed the first assembly line using interchangable parts, which made possible the use of assembly lines to put the cars together at a much lower cost and with greater reliability and repeatability.
