Project page to request technical page moves
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
| If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.
- If this is your first article and you want your draft article moved to the mainspace, please submit it for review at Articles for creation, by adding the code {{subst:submit}} to the top of the draft or user sandbox page instead of listing it here.
- Because you are autoconfirmed, you can move most pages yourself. Do not request technical assistance on this page if you can do it yourself.
- If you need help determining whether it's okay to move the page to a different title, then please follow the instructions at the top of Wikipedia:Requested moves.

The disambiguation page would simply be mentioned in a hatnote. Loytra (talk) 13:09, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do not insert new requests in this section. Only move requests here if the requested move has been contested.
- She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain → She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain (currently a redirect back to She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain) (move · discuss) – The apostrophe preceding the word "round" is not needed. Zacwill (talk) 22:08, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Only one source cited in the article has the song name in its title, and it uses "Around". The apostrophe seems needed to indicate the omission of the "A" at the beginning of that word. The Carl Sandburg source uses "Comin' Round", which also has an apostrophe, although in a different place. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:26, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- The Turkey (film) → Le Dindon (film) (currently a redirect back to The Turkey (film)) (move · discuss) – WP:COMMONNAME see also. Le Dindon -Lionel Cristiano? 15:21, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- WP:NCFILM asks us to use "the title under which it has been released in cinemas or on video in the English-speaking world." Has this film seen an English-language release, and if so, what title was used? 162 etc. (talk) 16:33, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- This is the correct one. 1 Lionel Cristiano? 18:31, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- That doesn't answer the question. See also WP:CITINGIMDB. 162 etc. (talk) 18:38, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Everyone knows this movie as Le Dindon. Lionel Cristiano? 20:37, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, no sources cited. 162 etc. (talk) 20:53, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose. This film is listed as "The Turkey" at The Movie Database. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 21:35, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Fribourg railway station (currently a redirect to Fribourg/Freiburg railway station) → Fribourg/Freiburg railway station (move · discuss) – use of the official naming of this station because Fribourg is a bilingual city Swiss512 (talk) 17:05, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- It seems highly unlikely to me that this dual name is really the common name - people probably call it one or the other, not both. * Pppery * it has begun... 15:42, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Emmasofia → Psynapse (currently a redirect instead to List of Inhumans) (move · discuss) – The organization changed its name. —Of the universe (say hello) 01:06, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Do you have any sources indicating this change? We need reliable sources that are independent of the subject which use the new name in the body text, ideally. You can check WP:NAMECHANGES for more info on what to look for. ASUKITE 15:33, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- "Psynapse was originally known as EmmaSofia but recently changed its name" (Blossom Analysis). Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 04:53, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- There aren't a huge number of independent sources about this organisation, and those that I can see seem to be mostly news articles written at the time it was set up in 2015. For example [1][2][3]. The sources in the article generally don't mention it as well. As such, I'm not convinced it even meets WP:GNG, and even if it does, the WP:NAMECHANGES bar isn't met, as no secondary sources use the new name. As a final point, the name Psynapse currently points to a Marvel character, and I think that might be at least as much of a contender for primary topic as the organisation. — Amakuru (talk) 07:48, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

- Comte Jules Raphaël Bethenod de Montbressieux → Raph (racing driver) (currently a redirect back to Comte Jules Raphaël Bethenod de Montbressieux) (move · discuss) – WP:COMMONNAME is "Raph", disambiguate as per WP:NCSP Ortizesp (talk) 12:24, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Is the natural disambiguator not the preferred article title? Given the article says He styled himself as I think its an appropriate location, or could at least be disputed. I think this might need a move discussion. microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 11:37, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Computer Peripherals → Computer peripherals (currently a redirect instead to Peripheral) (move · discuss) – This was the redirect page created when I moved its article to Computer Peripherals (company). I edited incoming links to point to the moved article, then changed it into a disambiguation page. Sentence case is now more appropriate for the title. Musiconeologist (talk) 23:19, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- This doesn't seem right. Peripheral must be the primary meaning of the sentence case computer peripheral, so that should remain a redirect. Probably the capitalised version is OK as a disambiguation page, similar to Red Meat vs Red meat — Amakuru (talk) 00:54, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Fair enough. I wasn't aware the sentence-case page even existed until I posted my request.Musiconeologist (talk) 02:31, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- I have reverted your move of the company article. The disambiguation page is now at Computer Peripherals (disambiguation). GTrang (talk) 16:41, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks. I've checked and they both come up in a lowercase search for computer peripherals, which was my main concern in the first place. Originally, that simply jumped directly to the company article.Musiconeologist (talk) 17:47, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- This reversion doesn't make sense to me. The normal peripherals concept is overwhelming primary topic of the two pages by page views, in any capitalisation, over what is a relatively obscure company.[4] Having Computer Peripherals be the company is not correct. This is exactly akin to Red Meat / Red meat. @Musiconeologist and GTrang: It should either redirect to Peripheral or have the disambiguation page, which is how it was following your move. — Amakuru (talk) 07:47, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Coming in to (untangle the move history and then) endorse the current status which is:
- Looks good to me. microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 00:49, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Peripheral turned out to be missing (deleted!) from the Periphery page. I've added it, though I'm dubious about the wisdom of that redirect.Musiconeologist (talk) 02:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- @Amakuru I have to say I agree re the title of the company article. I felt Computer Peripherals was so misleading that it couldn't be kept. To me this is a case where a casual reader's need for an article's subject to match the natural meaning of its title matters more than guidelines about whether disambiguation terms are strictly needed. The current discussion is focused on disambiguation from other articles, but surely the important thing for that article is disambiguation from what a reader will otherwise expect—including readers who don't automatically pay attention to capitalisation and hatnotes and aren't Wikipedia editors. They'll expect an article about computer peripherals. Musiconeologist (talk) 04:19, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
