Fair-use image on user page

I haveremoved a non-free image from your user page. Please be advised that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Wikipedia policy does not allow templates (which includes userboxes) or user pages to contain any copyrighted content not under free license; so, for example, "fair use" images are explicitly forbidden. This clause is to be interpreted strictly and without exception, for legal reasons. You can research Wikipedia's fair use policy guidelines for more details.

For images and other media that are freely available for use in userpages and userboxes, check out Wikimedia Commons. Thanks. --Fritz S. (Talk) 10:42, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fuel economy reply

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe infoboxes have set fields; that there is a template somewhere with the current fields in it and that it can be modified to include fuel economy. I'd ask at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Automobiles, both to find out how it can be done and to see if other editors agree that it's a useful addition. IFCAR 14:47, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is my belief after a long time of theological study and church history that the RMC is the one true church- it is the supreme branch there is no doubt, they even constructed the bible. However, I believe that God cares about the content of your character opposed to what Church you go to. Worship him and no other and you shall be saved. However, your prayers mean more to me than you could possibly know. Gavin Scott 21:23, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Super Regionals

Check the NCAA record book here: http://www.ncaa.org/library/records/baseball/baseball_champs_records/2006/d1/2006_d1_baseball_champ_records.pdf. It's the 2006 version. Super Regionals started in 1999 so you'll just have to manually check every year since then. I don't know of any sites where one could easily glean that type of information. College baseball isn't as thoroughly covered as some other sports, unfortunately. Seancp 00:33, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. hbdragon88 01:27, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cesar Ivan Aguilar-Cano. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. hbdragon88 05:03, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kentucky public university ACT scores graphic

I was looking at the graphic you posted featuring median ACT scores for Kentucky's state universities, and noticed a mistake that needs fixing. You have "NKU" listed twice. The gold bar is correct. The green bar needs "KSU", as it represents Kentucky State University. Thanks... :) — Dale Arnett (talk) 21:56, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wind gusts in tornadoes

They have never been included in articles (per a 2006 mention:)

http://www.srh.weather.gov/jetstream/mesoscale/tornado.htm "The F-scale is to be used with great caution. Tornado wind speeds are still largely unknown; and the wind speeds on the F-scale have never been scientifically tested and proven. Different winds may be needed to cause the same damage depending on how well-built a structure is, wind direction, wind duration, battering by flying debris, and a bunch of other factors."

http://www.spc.noaa.gov/faq/tornado/#f-scale1 "Tornado wind speeds are still largely unknown; and the wind speeds on the original F-scale have never been scientifically tested and proven. Different winds may be needed to cause the same damage depending on how well-built a structure is, wind direction, wind duration, battering by flying debris, and a bunch of other factors. Also, the process of rating the damage itself is largely a judgment call -- quite inconsistent and arbitrary (Doswell and Burgess, 1988). Even meteorologists and engineers highly experienced in damage survey techniques often came up with different F-scale ratings for the same damage."

"So if the original F-scale winds are just guesses, why are they so specific? Excellent question. Those winds were arbitrarily attached to the damage scale based on 12-step mathematical interpolation between the hurricane criteria of the Beaufort wind scale, and the threshold for Mach 1 (738 mph). Though the F-scale actually peaks at F12 (Mach 1), only F1 through F5 are used in practice, with F0 attached for tornadoes of winds weaker than hurricane force. Again, F-scale wind-to-damage relationships are untested, unknown and purely hypothetical. They have never been proven and may not represent real tornadoes. F-scale winds should not be taken literally."

No doubt wonderful sources. However, there was nothing hypothetical or debatable about the extent and size of the destruction in Xenia. It was F-5 (or EF-5), one mile wide through the heart of a city, any way you look at it. It took a diesel locomotive--one quarter of a million pounds--lifted it up and turned it over. That is no myth--I saw it with my own eyes.--Buckboard 22:06, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Skycrest, Lexington

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Skycrest, Lexington, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non-notable location

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

NCAA vacated games

FYI. The NCAA record books show all coaches and games in the record book, but with an asterisk. For example, see the Coaches Final Four Records. It was decided by the College Basketball Project that we should reflect the same contents as the NCAA record books. Thus, your edits amount to vandalism of an established article. If you dislike the way things are done, please bring it up on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College Basketball rather than creating an edit war. Ryan2845 (talk) 21:55, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lexington photo request

Hi, I see you've taken and uploaded many photos of places in and around Lexington, KY. Do you take requests? I'd like to add a photo of a building on the north side of the city, near I-75 and Newtown Pike, to an article. However I can't find any free version.   Will Beback  talk  20:50, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Super. The building is at 1537 Bull Lea Road, Lexington, KY 40511. It's "Peace Palace", viewed probably from their parking lot. It's less than a mile off of I-75, so if you go that way it shouldn't be much of a detour. There's no rush, whenever it's convenient (and if it's never convenient I can ask someone else). Cheers,   Will Beback  talk  01:50, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:PJCSbySportsAddict3.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:PJCSbySportsAddict3.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. A tag has been placed on File:HarrodsHillLexMap.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Rosemill, Lexington has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
