ORGIN OF READMADE:-

Formerly, Alagusundara nadar was introducing the readymade manufacturing in Puthiamputhur. He was started a garments in the year of 1954. The garments manufacturing idea was successes and changed his life style. When he started the garments, he has four tailors only. Then the success indicates him. His brothers Durai raja nadar and Maharaja nadar joined as one hand with their brother Alagusundara nadar's business. They were earned profit very much in their business. The success was created lot of new entrepreneur in Puthiamputhur. They were involved in the readymade manufacturing sequences Pichiah nadar, Thangalinga nadar and etc... Their usual product was underwear, bodies, trousers, tap trousers, jippa shirts, tap pavadai (lower part of midi), umbrella pavadai, blouse and etc...These kinds of normal and regular dresses only made by them.

AFTER 1967:-

The readymade garments industry changed in the year of 1967. Particularly, after the coming of Jeyaraja nadar into the business. He trained fancy kind of tailoring method from Madurai dress manufacturing company and started his own business with his brother Thangaraja nadar in the name of Laksmi dresses at Puthiamputhur. Followed him Navaneethan nadar, Jegathesan nadar, Karuppasamy nadar and many number of peoples were started the business. They were produced fancy types of dresses as like baba-set, full hand shirts, half hand shirts, slack ,ins-cut, cape, cap and etc.. New type of fabrics also introduced in market as like starchy silks, daubed silks. The innovative thinking and fancy items created dramatic changes and carried to next level the garments industry in Puthiamputhur.thoothukudi

AFTER 1984'S:-

27 garments were at Puthiamputhur in the year of 1984. They were all purchased material from Sivakasi, Madurai and Madras (Chennai). After days jawli stores and all manufacturing products also made in Puthiamputhur. Communication was made with all readymade stores of Tamilnadu. So their products quality also developed and got goodwill for readymade garments.

2000 TO 2010'S:-

200 companies were in the period of 2000 to 2004 Puthiamputhur. The 200 companies were creating a mass communication. It was made a unexpected growth in garments industry in Puthiamputhur. The peak growth was makes a history that in the period of the years got as major supplier of readymade dresses in Tamilnadu. Second placed Chennai and third place was Tirupur.

2005 TO 2006'S:-

It was the restriction time of Puthiamputhur in the industry. 60 companies were consolidated their business. Remaining 140 companies involved problems. Then little better improvement but not a good improvement.

REASON FOR RESTRECTION:-

The restriction’s major problem was trader's joules. Many companies were compotator to same customers. So every trader was making a price difference between them, because to occupied their customer. For example, A trader gives a dress at the price of Rs.220. But B trader is agreeing to give the same product at rs.200. The product manufacturing cost may be rs.200. B trader cannot take profit by the trade. The situation is making a decision for a trader try to make minimum cost production by poor fabrics, lowest price materials, poor stitching and avoiding product improvement activities and finally a trader is giving to agree the dress at the price of rs.180. Now A's manufacturing cast may be rs.160. The B trader could not accept to give the price at rs.180. If he will accept the order, he can’t get profit and he may loss rs.20. So B also involves making in lowest price of the same product and he will accept at the price rs.180 with profit. Even though the B trader is again competitive and reduced the price against a trader. Finally the both traders could not take sufficient profit. They are also lost his quality and goodwill, by which their product cannot sale in market that the reason is worst quality. Nobody don’t do trade with them. So either or both traders’ felt-up and moves from their business. Above the example is indicates spoil-out of the garments industry. It may be like a joke. But it is real. It was happened and happening.

AFTER 1997:-

Restriction was found out by associations and sufficient activities were taken among the company owners. Then they understood themselves. They were adopted into new way to trading without joules. It was possible by over all cost methods. Bulk purchases of fabrics creates lowest price of goods. It was another milestone of the industry. Some numbers of company owners were purchased fabrics and shared it themselves as joined hand. So the fabrics price reduced and cold get lowest price of goods]]. Followed them many owners joined and purchased from Surat, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Belwar, Chennai and etc...

NOW:-

They have succeeded with their life journey. Around 10000 peoples are living by the Puthiamputhur garments industry. The employees are everyone may earn rs.2000 to rs.10000/month.
