Jesse Beason is an American politician currently serving as a county commissioner for Multnomah County, Oregon.[2] Beason is a member of the Democratic Party.
Early life and education[edit]
Beason moved to Portland around 2000 to attend Lewis & Clark College where he received his Bachelor's degree in Communications.[2] He graduated Magna cum Laude.
Career[edit]
Beason began his career in 2003 as a Public Involvement Specialist for Metro, a regional government in the Portland area. In 2005, he was hired to serve as a Senior Policy Director for then Portland City Commissioner Sam Adams.[3] he served in this role until 2008 when he began working in the nonprofit industry. He was executive director of Proud Ground, a community land trust, and Vice President of Strategy & Public Affairs for the Northwest Health Foundation where he later became president and CEO, a role he serves in today.[2][4]
Multnomah County Commissioner[edit]
On November 1, 2023, County Commissioner Susheela Jayapal resigned to run for Congress.[4] Beason, as Jayapal's board approved alternate, was sworn in to replace her.[5]
