Aykol Township (Chinese: 阿依库勒乡) is a township in Poskam County (Zepu County) in the Kashgar Prefecture of Xinjiang, in northwestern China. The township, which covers 49.1 square kilometres, has 5 administrative villages, 21 village groups, and has a total population of 11,260 people.[1]Located 5.5 km west of the main office of Zepu County Office, it lies north of the Yarkand River. The township has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages and 69 village committees.[1]
A typical farming township, Aykol has an area of 3.65 million mu of cultivated land and is a major producer of grain, such as rice, wheat and corn, cotton, fruits and medicinal herbs.[1]
