Etymology

From Proto-Slavic *dvorъ, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *dʰworom. Cognate with Latin forum. From the same Proto-Indo-European nominal root *dʰwer- (door, gate) that also gave двьри (dvĭri, doors).
