Pierfrancesco Franco is a Medical Doctor and a Radiation Oncologist. He’s presently appointed as Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Department of Oncology of the University of Turin, in Turin, Italy. His fields of interest are head and neck and gastrointestinal malignancies and breast cancer and he is charge of the clinical research projects on these topics. He is particularly interested in the optimization of radiotherapy treatment approaches for cancer patients in different settings, for which he spent a period at U-Penn in Philadelphia, to work on high-precision radiation delivery in breast cancer, and he had his PhD program on developing strategies to minimize the hematologic toxicity profile in the combined modality treatment of patients affected with anal cancer. He is presently Chair of the Young ESTRO Committee and appointed as a Core Faculty Member of the European School of Oncology (ESO). He is particularly committed to education in the field of Oncology.
