A school in which one in ten pupils come from families working in Scotland’s travelling shows and which was among the first to win a “nurturing award” has come top of the The Sunday Times Primary School League Table 2024.
Thorntree Primary School, in Shettleston in the east end of Glasgow, performed flawlessly in reading, writing, numeracy, listening and talking among P7 pupils despite most of them living in deprived communities, according to official statistics.
