A tiny ice cream kiosk overlooking the golden sandy banks of the Salcombe estuary has been put up for sale with a price tag of £1.5 million.

The stone-built commercial property has operated as a beach café and shop in the affluent village of East Portlemouth for many years.

Measuring 19.7ft (6m) by 14.4ft, the freehold site is two thirds the size of a standard double garage and sits on about an acre of beach at low tide. Originally built as a stable at sea level for horses travelling long distances, it provided a place of rest to avoid a steep journey up to the farm in the village above.
