Keith Gordon has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Workhouse Arts Foundation, which operates the Workhouse Art Center in Lorton. He'll join the Workhouse staff July 1.
The organization, based in a historic former prison, operates art galleries and a history museum, offers classes, hosts theater and music performances and sponsors community events. More information is at workhousearts.org.
Gordon has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and private sectors, most recently as president and CEO of Fight For Children, a nonprofit working to improve the lives of underserved youth. He was also president of the NFL Players Incorporated, a subsidiary of the National Football League Players Association.
He graduated from Arizona State University, worked in advertising in New York City, then joined the National Basketball Association, working on team collaborations, marketing strategies and revenue growth, according to a news release.
His mother has been a professor of art history, and his older brother is a TV and film actor.
Gordon lives in McLean with his wife, Mary, and their two children.
