Notes about Photos on Peakbagger.com

  • Each registered user of Peakbagger.com can upload up to 100 photos.
  • JPG (or JPEG) is the only supported format. You must convert GIF, PNG, HEIC, and other format to JPG and then upload the converted file.
  • Please be selective and imaginative when uploading photos. The internet does need any more generic photos of Mount Washington or Mount Rainier. Pictures of exotic peaks or that capture unique aspects of a mountain are especially welcome.
  • To save storage space, photos larger tha 2048 x 1536 pixels are shrunk to those dimensions for their largest stored size.
  • When you upload a photo, the 2048 x 1536 "large" size version is stored, and a smaller version that is a maximum of 450 pixels wide, which is used for most site display purposes. Wherever a photo is displayed on the site, a link to the large size photo is provided.
  • All photos must have a caption. And they must be linked to at least one peak in the database, or one of your ascents. Optionally, you can link up to three peaks to a photo, as appropriate.
  • Hitting the "Delete" button permanently deteles the photo from the site and it cannot be retrieved afterwards.
  • Uploaded photos can be deleted at any time by the site webmaster if they are deemed inapproproiate, offensive, not related to site content, or of poor quality. Since hosting space is limited, Peakbagger.com cannot allow unlimited storing of thousands and thousands of random photos. Thanks for understanding!
