Solo trip for conditioning and to finally see what all the hubbub is about with Mt Walker. Long drive from Olympia. An hour-40. The trail is on par with Mt Rose to Horse camp at 2 miles and 2100' gain. I made the summit in 1:03 from the car carrying 37lbs. The trail portion was 0:58 minutes. Went to the south summit/view point. No views really. About 4" snow on top. The upper ⅓ of trail with slushy slippery snow. No traction used. Back to car. Total time 2:28. |
