I have always enjoyed being out doors. In 1985 and 1986 I suffered two slipped disks. The Dr's recommendation was that I begin walking on a regular basis. (I set a goal to walk the mileage around the world, 24,901.55 miles) As of 2022 I have covered over 41,500 miles, I have completed the Adirondack 46 (#4353)(1998), the Catskill 3500 (#1805)(2009), the FLT (Finger Lakes Trail) 562 miles(#355)(2013), Saranac Six (#2212)(2017) In 2000 I walked the New York City marathon. (26.2 miles - 6 hours 4 minutes) I continue to walk and hike more slowly now, working on the branch trails and loop trails of the FLT. A more recent goal was to complete the N.Y.S. Fire Tower Challenge. Finishing on Mt. Adams in 2015. Recent health problems (spinal fusion surgery (2019) has made hiking more difficult. Goals include: the Lake George 12ster (now complete but not submitted yet), FLT's Conservation Trail(FLT Branch Trails), and several Adirondack climbs on lesser peaks.
