Sara Just is the senior executive producer of PBS News Hour Productions and a WETA senior vice president.

In these capacities, she oversees the editorial and production across platforms of PBS’ nightly PBS News Hour broadcast, digital platforms, breaking and special news broadcasts, the PBS News Weekend program, and the weekly public affairs program, Washington Week.

Since taking over leadership of the News Hour in 2014, Just has driven growth and expansion to this legacy media brand, including adding staff to the newsroom, forging new media partnerships and increasing the output of enterprising reporting. These efforts have led to double-digit audience growth across TV and digital platforms and some of journalism’s most prestigious awards.

Just came to the News Hour after more than 25 years at ABC News, where she most recently served as ABC’s Deputy Washington Bureau Chief and Senior Washington Producer for Good Morning America. She previously spent 17 years at Ted Koppel’s Nightline. From 2006-2012, Just led online political coverage over two presidential campaigns for ABC News Digital and was Acting Executive Producer of This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

Just is the recipient of 16 Emmy Awards, six Peabody Awards, three Dupont Silver Batons, two Overseas Press Club Awards, a Gracie Award, a Sigma Delta Chi Award, James Beard Broadcast and Journalism Award, RFK Journalism Award and multiple Webby Awards.

She is a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of Columbia University, from which she received the John Jay Award for Distinguished Professional Achievement and completed the Sulzberger Leadership Program. She and her husband live in Maryland and are the parents of two young adult sons.
