Gambling Site Gives Prediction of Where Colin Kaepernick Will Sign After Upcoming Workout For NFL Execs

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will have a private workout Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia, for executives from around the league. Invitations were sent to all 32 teams, and many of them have spent a 2019 season roughing it at quarterback.

There are online sports gambling sites that let bettors lay down money on just about anything, and one of the newest lines this week is which NFL team will sign Colin Kaepernick?

The site sportsbetting.ag lists the hapless Cincinnati Bengals as the team most likely to sign Kaepernick, with +350 odds. That means, for example, a $100 bet on the Bengals would win someone $350, plus their $100 back.

The next two teams on the list also reside in the AFC North Division with the Bengals, who are the only winless team in the NFL.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are listed at +400 and the Baltimore Ravens are listed at +600 to land Kaepernick. The other AFC North team, the Cleveland Browns, are the 14th team on the list, making the AFC North the only team among the 17 teams listed to have its entire division among those who could sign Kaepernick.

The Steelers lost veteran starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for the season with an elbow injury during Week 2, and backup quarterback Mason Rudolph has been injured at times. The Ravens have an MVP candidate in quarterback Lamar Jackson, but they also have an offense with an array of weapons—something in which Kaepernick could be an extra wrinkle.

Two teams at the bottom of the list are the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots, both listed at +5000 to land Kaepernick. Teams that are doing fairly well with solid quarterback play, but are still listed as teams that could potentially sign Kaepernick, are the Buffalo Bills (+700), Houston Texans (+1000) and the San Francisco 49ers (+1600).

Meanwhile, the NFL Players Association stated that although it had no role in setting up the Kaepernick workout, NFLPA chief Demarcus Smith said he would be floored if Kaepernick, who is now 32, doesn't get signed by an NFL club.

"I would be stunned if he didn't get signed because he's good enough to play anywhere in the league," Smith told USA Today in a text.

Kaepernick was the backup quarterback for the 49ers when he began kneeling during the national anthem at NFL games during the 2016 preseason to raise awareness to social injustice, police brutality in black communities and racial inequalities. That year was his last to play in the league.

Kaepernick has since tried to get on rosters of other NFL teams, but none of them would sign him, prompting a lawsuit by Kaepernick against the league, saying the teams conspired to not sign him because of his political views.

Kaepernick and former San Francisco 49ers teammate Eric Reid reached a settlement with the NFL last year that was a little less than $10 million.
