What You Need To Know about the Michelin Anakee Road Tire

Michelin shows off its road-focused Anakee adventure-touring tire.

In spite of the versatile on/off-road capability of adventure motorcycles, not all ADV riders want to ride in the dirt. That’s what Michelin is betting on with its street-focused Anakee Road tires. Available in both 19- and 21-inch front tire sizes, and 17- and 18-inch rears, the Anakee Road is engineered specifically for motorcyclists who ride on pavement, both in the wet and in the dry. Here are a couple of things you should know about Michelin’s new Anakee Road tire after trying it on BMW Motorrad’s new and improved R 1300 GS (find out more during the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Trophy Edition Reviews articles).

  1. This tire is designed for all of us adventure-touring bike riders who ride strictly on the street.
  2. Michelin says this tire has more wet-weather grip, courtesy of a new silica formula, think engineered sand, and it has more durability versus the Anakee Wild.
  3. This Anakee Road tire comes in a wide variety of sizes including this 19-inch front; you can also get 21-inch fronts and 17- and 18-inch rears.

We’ll see you in the next episode folks.
