Lincolnshire Premier League round-up

Bourne made it back-to-back victories to continue their winning start to the new Lincolnshire Premier League campaign on Saturday.

The perennial title challengers followed up last week's win at Sleaford with a 107-run success over Scunthorpe at the Abbey Lawn.

They overcame a tricky start where they slumped to 66-5 to finish on 229 all out with Courtney Kruger leading the charge after making 76.

Rob Bentley added 35 while Pete Morgan and Dan Freeman had earlier contributed 28 and 20 respectively.

Ben Crew (4-58) and Tim Shephard (3-50) had ripped through the top of Bourne's batting order, however, Scunthorpe were then skittled out for 122 in reply as the hosts shared the wickets among their bowling attack.

Colin Cheer, Jack Berry and Bentley all bagged a brace each with the latter also picking up a couple of run-outs.

Market Deeping bounced back from their opening day defeat in emphatic style with a 10-wicket win over Nettleham at Outgang Road.

Their visitors were bowled out for 113 as only three of their batsmen managed double figures - Oliver Ward (14), Ravi Paintal (19) and Husnain Gul (12).

Matt Mills took 3-21 for Deeping while Hayatullah Niazi, Marcus Telford and James Hook all claimed two wickets each.

Deeping needed less than 21 overs to reach the required target as Josh Smith struck nine fours and four sixes in an unbeaten 74 while fellow opener Connor Gillett was 32 not out at the close.

Long Sutton's home match with Grimsby Town and Spalding's trip to Bracebridge Heath were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Spalding host Market Deeping in a derby on Saturday while Long Sutton entertain Woodhall Spa with Bourne travelling to Nettleham.
