For All Mankind (2019)
Started amazing! Fell apart in the 3rd season
Will always love the first two seasons in the first two seasons we are introduced to very possible alternate timeline where the USA is humbled by the Russians landing on the moon before Apollo 11. And while there is a lot of character drama that other reviews have criticized negatively I don't believe that it detracts from the story it actually enhances it. Without that development we wouldn't be affected by the loss of Gordo and Tracy. But in the third season we end up with a lot of current real world propaganda rammed down our throats. I dislike having political issues forced upon me when I'm trying to be entertained. If you need indoctrination during your entertainment time then enjoy the last two seasons. I was disappointed to see how badly the showrunners treated Ed Baldwin.
The Mandalorian (2019)
My thank you to Jon and Dave
Thank you for bringing Star Wars back, please keep going, don't lose this momentum. Heavy spoilers ahead!!!!
I have to thank you for redeeming Luke after what the mouse house did to him in the new trilogy. I've been waiting since I was a kid to see my hero Luke Skywalker really kick some serious ass! You guys are the best thing to happen to this universe. I hope you guys make more series or movies in the future
The Borgias (2011)
Not Thrones or Tudors
And it doesn't have to be. The Borgias is a beautiful series with impressive sets, costumes, music and writing. The casting is fabulous. Jeremy Irons is as always captivating to watch. Cesare and lucrezia are perfectly casted as well. This series has everything; drama, intrigue, politics, and great character development. If you want a Game of Thrones this is not it, it's a moody historical drama that is quite accurate for a TV show. I came for Jeremy Irons, but I stayed for Micheletto who became my favorite character. This series deserves more attention than it has received. Highly recommended!
The Detained (2017)
Why?
Did the makers of this pile of crap know or even care that the people most likely to watch this aren't old enough to remember The Breakfast Club? Just dumb, I dropped about 30 iq points watching this stupidity. Not funny enough to be a comedy , not scary or gory enough to be a horror, not entertaining enough to watch. Good background noise while I was doing laundry.
The Nun (2018)
Creepy horror with gothic atmosphere
I went to catholic schools as a kid and everyone I know were more scared of the nuns than the priests probably because they were the disciplinarians.
I thought the movie was good if The actors were great I'm sure someone will say it's too heavy on CGI but honestly what movie since the late 09's isn't.
If you grew up in the church like I did I think you'll fin it good in a spooky way.
Gehenna: Where Death Lives (2016)
Won't get an oscar
I gave it 4 stars because the one thing that the movie crew got right was the atmosphere. It was creepy and claustrophobic.
The only reason I can't rate 5/10 is because the acting is awful. But if you have few hours or brain cells to kill there are worse ways to spend time.
Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005)
Why?
I'm a huge fan of the series and this is the only one I didn't care for. I'm sure producers were trying to get fans of a younger generation, but I felt cheated, Pinhead isn't all about stupid onliners. He's absolutely the Hamlet of Hell, his menace was completely absent here, h always has had more introspective if not philosophical things to say
Overall skip this one it's a waste of time
Dope Sick Love (2005)
Too real
I was a paramedic for ten years during the worst of the opiate crisis and in the course of my daily duties I encountered people like this all the time I firmly believe that this should be shown to high school students so they can see the ugly side of drugs, and especially the desperation to make enough money for the next high. Note that they never eat. They just get high.
Meth Storm (2017)
Shockingly real
As a former paramedic, unfortunately this is exactly how meth affects not just the user, but their families and the community,
Mr. Cleaver (2018)
I lost 80 iq points
I love low budget horror movies, but this was absolutely the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I will admit that I laughed a few times. But the dialogue, direction and cinematography made Dan Dohler look like Martin Scorsese.
The Count of Monte Cristo (2002)
It's not a book
Can you seriously not understand the difference between the two mediums of art? Books are read and movies are watched. Of course this movie isn't anything like the book. But Kevin Reynolds does a great job of pacing this movie and making it beautiful for viewing which is the point of movies. Guy Pearce gives an outstanding performance as mondego. He's slimy ( the character) not the actor. Please stop criticizing this nice movie from the standpoint of "it's not like the book" be a book critic
