Nice idea
20 September 2006 - 12 out of 23 users found this review helpful.
I was drawn to this film by it's interesting premise. Of course, as a straight to video film I wasn't really expecting much even though I hoped for the best. The film sat somewhere in the middle for me. It was enjoyable and somewhat interesting, but I couldn't help but feel it had much more potential than it displayed. Perhaps on a higher budget with a better script, we could have seen something really special. When the movie was over, I shrugged... I wasn't overly satisfied, yet not disappointed. But as far as straight to video films go, this one is definitely in the upper class.
And what was up with Monica Keena's lips?

Cheap Australian childrens sci-fi strikes again!
23 November 2002 - 2 out of 9 users found this review helpful.
What is Australia's obsession with making lame sci-fi kids shows? There are so many, and very few of them actually last.
This one's pretty lame, but it's actually enjoyable considering they're constantly mocking themselves within the show.

Enjoyable bad movie!
25 September 2002 - 1 out of 1 users found this review helpful.
Yeah, it's another bad horror flick! But hey, it's still a fun movie to watch! I picked up a copy of this on DVD for $10(AU), and pretty much assumed I wouldn't enjoy it much, but it ended up being a lot of fun.
As for Roy Scheider, he's barely even in this film! I hate it when they stick known actors names all over the box, just so people will watch it.

Big Brother never seemed too appealing, but..
24 September 2002 - 3 out of 4 users found this review helpful.
I never actually watched any of the earlier Big Brother adventures. I turned on the first episode of series 1 for about ten minutes, and I was already bored out of my mind. So I managed to avoid the first two very popular Big Brother series'. So when Celebrity Big Brother came along, I liked the idea, and planned to only watch the first episode, depending on how much it bored me.
Now when the celebrities were introduced, they didn't seem to be anyone people would be so crazy about. We had Kyle, who's sense of humor I enjoy when I hear him on the radio, although I wasn't too amused or interested by his quite ordinary appearance on the series. Then we had Dylan, who I've always loved as a TV show host, but I didn't really expect to see anything worthwhile from him (although he certainly did end up impressing us all in the house). Then we had Kimberly, the ex-soap star, who I've always hated, and was really hoping to see someone beat her to death. And as for the rest of the housemates, they were just a bunch of celebrities I didn't care for, and some of them I didn't even know.
So anyway, after watching the first episode, I was totally hooked! It's just so amazing seeing these people acting completely as themselves. I ended up liking these people more than I could ever imagine (except for that drag queen, I voted for his/her eviction about 9 times).
This series will probably never be shown in re-runs, or in different countries, but I suppose I should add a spoiler warning here anyway...
The winner, Dylan was so very much expected! Everyone loved his crazy antics so much. He didn't even get nominated for eviction once.
And the best thing about it all is that it was for charity!

Terrible.. and I'm not being over dramatic!
13 September 2002 - 3 out of 8 users found this review helpful.
I suppose this is a pretty hard to find film. Well don't be like me and bother searching for it!
When I first heard about it, I didn't really know too much about it, but there was something which really intrigued me about the idea. So I managed to track down a copy, and I can assure you that I wasted my money on this one!
Okay, so I guess the first thing to mention is that the acting is utterly terrible! And the dialogue seems like it was written by someone who's spent their life hiding in their bedroom.
There's some blood in the film, but it's just so poorly done, that it's not appealing at all.
This was done on an ultra low budget. But that's no excuse for making such a bad film. What we are presented with is a stupid story, dumb characters, bad acting and terrible music.
I've now watched it two times, and still have the same opinion. Don't bother with this movie! It's not so bad that it's funny, it's just bad!
Oh, and as for Oliver... he looks like an idiot.. and perhaps they shouldn't have cast someone who's slightly overweight to appear in their underwear.

Terrible.
11 September 2002 - 10 out of 35 users found this review helpful.
I really do hate short films. And this one's no better than the millions of other boring student films sitting under some fat kid's bed.
I didn't find this funny at all, just boring. And when I say boring, I mean REALLY boring. It goes for 10 minutes, and I was already tempted to turn it off after the first minute.
Okay, so I know it's just a student film, and it's Kevin Smith's first piece of work, but that doesn't make it any better.
I suppose you should only bother watching this if you're a die-hard Kevin Smith fan. But I assure you, you won't bother watching it again!

Way better than 100 Girls!
5 September 2002 - 1 out of 5 users found this review helpful.
Let's face it, 100 Girls was a bad movie! And we all know that a follow up to a bad movie is usually an even worse one. That's what I had on my mind when I first slipped in the DVD of this movie.
Now remember the most annoying things about 100 Girls? The non-stop voice over, the unappealing imagination sequences, the annoying childish background music. Those are the things which ruined 100 girls, and yes, they are once again in this movie, but luckily they are kept to a minimum.
The premise to this movie may not be too original and appealing, but I assure you, it's pulled off well. I even laughed a few times (which is something I didn't do once during 100 Girls). The cast do a great job here, and are a real treat compared to the highly annoying characters of 100 Girls. Okay, so this movie has it's flaws. There's a certain revelation which is one of the dumbest ideas ever. But doesn't every movie have it's bad moments!?!
For some reason they seem to have changed the title of "100 Women" to "Girl Fever" in the USA. God only know why! It's still called "100 Women" here in Australia, and I don't think I would have bothered to see this if I was unaware of it's connection to 100 Girls.
I know I keep referring to 100 Girls, but the truth is, you really have to watch this movie in comparison to it. 100 Girls was a piece of garbage. 100 Women is basically the same movie, but done better this time around (although still not perfect). I didn't completely hate 100 Girls, there was something about it which I try to hold on to, but after seeing 100 Women, I've grown a little faith in Michael Davis.
So if you want to see 100 Girls done better, go see this movie. I'm sure you'll enjoy it at least a little.

Fred Savage as a savage.. a good TV movie.
30 July 2000 - 4 out of 9 users found this review helpful.
This movie was very enjoyable.
Fred Savage's acting was great.
The only thing I hated about this film was that it showed the ending at the beginning, so there's no real surprise.
Of course, this isn't cinema worthy.. it's just a good watch if it comes on TV.

Cut (2000)
Biggest disappointment ever! (WARNING: SPOILERS!)
28 July 2000 - 0 out of 1 users found this review helpful.
I was really excited about seeing this film. I thought finally Australia had made a good film.. but I was wrong.
This was the most pathetic attempt at a slasher film ever. I feel sorry for Molly Ringwald having to come all the way to Australia to make an awful movie.
The acting was terrible (especially that Australian guy who was trying to speak in an American accent), and the plot was also pretty bad.
When I first heard about this film coming out, I thought that the title was pathetic (because it sounds like the cheesy film "Stab" in Scream 2), but I was willing to let it slide if it was a good movie.
WARNING!!! MAJOR SPOILERS!!!
Probably the worst thing about the film was the ending. I was expecting a big surprise about who the killer was.. but the killer wasn't even human.. which turned this realistic slasher film into an awful horror movie.
Don't see this film.. you'll probably be disappointed!

Excellent! But something was missing.
28 July 2000
When I walked into the cinema, the only thing that I was worried about was if I didn't understand the film.. but this movie was very easy to follow.
The only problem was, when I left the cinema, I felt like I hadn't seen the full film. Things weren't wrapped up enough. Maybe the sequel will continue from the spot (I hope).
Other than that, this was an excellent film and I recommend it to anyone.

The best TV movie ever!
28 July 2000 - 9 out of 15 users found this review helpful.
Something made me tape this film when it came on TV. I hadn't seen any previews, been told about it or anything. All I knew about it was what it said in the TV guide.. and I must admit, that didn't make it sound appealing. But I'm glad I did tape it, because this is an excellent movie.
But how bad could a movie which stars the girl from "Sometimes They Come Back Again", the guy from "Saved By The Bell", and the pregnant girl who stole Matt's car in an episode of "7th Heaven" be anyway!?!
I recommend this movie to anyone.

Surprisingly Good.
21 July 2000
Everybody told me that this was a terrible movie, so I didn't expect much. But in actual fact, this is a really good movie. Of course, it could have been better.
One of the things I noticed that stopped it from being a five star movie is that the kidnapping and death happen way too early.. before the opening credits in fact. Movies should spread out things like that. We should have gotten to know the characters a little.
This isn't much of a comedy.. more of a black comedy, but there are still a few laughs.

Surprisingly enjoyable.

I didn't expect much from this film, as most late night TV movies are pretty bad. But I somewhat enjoyed this film. Sure I wouldn't bother watching it again, but I'm glad I saw it once. Brian Dennehy was very convincing. And let me just say that anyone who stalks and attempts to kill elderly people over a piece of candy must have issues.

As bad as they come.
21 July 2000 - 1 out of 6 users found this review helpful.
Deep down I really hoped this would be good. But unfortunately I was disappointed once again. This movie was just like every other 80's/early 90's teen flick, boring and predictable. The only difference here was that it was based in the 1950's (which in my opinion, makes it worse).
If you're into those same-old-thing teen flicks, you may like this. But if you're into modern teen flicks (like me), you'll probably hate it.

Loved it.

I didn't get my hopes up about this film because films like this usually end up being disappointing.
But this was a great film.
One thing that bothered be though was the fact that I was misinformed about the plot. But in all honesty, I think the real plot was much better.
The only thing I hated about this film was the drug use. Other than that, this is a great film.

Terrible film. Shouldn't have been made.
6 July 2000 - 1 out of 4 users found this review helpful.
I wasn't expecting much from this film, but when I saw it, I realized that this is the biggest load of crap ever. I usually enjoy films which lead to nothing (ie. SubUrbia), but this was just pathetic. It makes me feel ashamed to be a teenager.

Excellent movie! Even better than "The Sixth Sense".
12 May 2000
I absolutely loved this movie. When I went to see this film, I didn't know what to expect. I figured that it would be a good movie.. but I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I really like the idea of someone being hypnotized and retrieving the ability to see the dead. This didn't go too well at the box office in the USA because it came out at the same time as "The Sixth Sense". But I think this is much better.

The best show ever!
29 April 2000
This really is a fantastic show. When I first saw this advertised, I was a little worried about what it would be like. But every episode has been great! The only problem is that it has moved to a terrible time slot (11:30pm) on Australian TV. But as long as they don't get rid of the show, I'll be happy. What makes it such a great show is that it combines teen life, romance and sci-fi together. If you haven't bothered to watch this show, I suggest you do.

A good film.
28 April 2000
The first time I saw this movie I thought it was the best movie ever. But when I saw it for my second time (on video), I was really disappointed. Don't get me wrong... this still is a very good movie. I think I just got my hopes up about it being as good the second time around. I'm a big fan of teen movies, and this one is a good watch.

Stupid movie. I can see why it didn't make it to video.

I really did hate this movie. There just wasn't anything good about it. They've done the non-human playing basketball way too many times (eg. Teen Wolf, Air Bud). As much as I like sasquatch/bigfoots, I just can't like this movie. But I'm sure younger audiences would enjoy it.

Very Funny!
14 April 2000 - 4 out of 6 users found this review helpful.
This was an excellent parody of "The Blair Witch Project". It was very funny and very well acted.
The best thing about it was how the cast acted almost exactly like the characters in "The Wizard of Oz". By that I mean the way they talk. Also that they copied the scenes of "The Blair Witch.." extremely well.
I really wish it had gone for longer though. Nine minutes doesn't seem long enough. But then again, maybe if it was a full length film it wouldn't be as good.
If you liked or hated "The Blair Witch Project", I recommend you see this film.

Better Than Letterman!
8 April 2000 - 2 out of 3 users found this review helpful.
I absolutely love this show! I was a little worried that it wouldn't be any good because Russell Gilbert's last show ended only after a few episodes (not because it was bad, just because they couldn't think of new material every week). I really like the David Letterman type theme to it (ie. the desk, live audience, real guests.) and not just a show full of stand-up comedy and skits. I really hope this show lasts. Seeing we can't have "Hey Hey It's Saturday" anymore, we must have a substitute, and this show provides everything we could possibly want.

This was a great film. I really enjoyed it. I have been waiting so long for this movie, and I thought that my hopes may have been to high. But they were not! The main thing which made this film great was that it was so different from the last two films. Neve Campbell also didn't have a very big part (not that it bothers me). I highly recommend you see this film.

What the hell?

What the hell is this load of rubbish? I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but this movie absolutely sucks! I thought at least this would be filled with gore. But even though the gore is extreme, it's just not enough to make anyone want to see this film.
This movie has been added to my list of all time bad films.

Pointless crap!
10 March 2000
I hated this movie! Everyone told me that this is "one of the greatest horror films ever made", but I have to disagree. All this movie is is a load of cheap boring horror. The zombies don't even look or act good. I know this is old, but I've seen a lot of films which were made before this that were much much better.
I give it 1 out of 5.
