Characters like Aizen (Bleach), Eren (Attack on Titan), and Johan (Monster) have taken the lead among unsettling anime characters. Their personalities have such a jarring difference with their appearance and demeanor, that it’s very hard to accept them. But this trend was not always present in the anime/manga world, and in a way was popularized by Akira Toriyama.
Now you might ask what relation any of these anime have with Akira Toriyama, but remember that Toriyama is one of the living legends of the manga/anime world. The steps taken by him in his series, later became more widely accepted, due to Dragon Ball‘s popularity.

Hajime Isayama worked extremely hard for Attack on Titan. The effort he put into its creation didn’t just take a toll on him physically but also mentally. It is not uncommon for mangakas to find themselves getting ill because of the terrible schedules that they must grow accustomed to. For Isayama though, his problems began much before the manga even picked up serialization.

For a story that held so much depth and understanding, there was no doubt someone must have picked it up at one point. With the number of publishers around, there shouldn’t have been a problem for Isayama to find the right place for his manga. However, his fate was twisted to show him hardships before his journey could kick off.

There’s one character in Attack on Titan who holds the power of causing a rebellion if he is ever killed by Hajime Isayama. You guessed it right, it’s Levi Ackerman, humanity’s strongest soldier. And Eren fans can scream all they want, but Levi’s presence is undefeatable in the series.
Levi is one of the main characters in Attack on Titan and his popularity exceeds that of the protagonist, Eren. Fans love his short-king attitude as well as his no-nonsense demeanor. No one can imagine Attack on Titan without Levi, the top soldier of Paradis. In a recent interview, Hajime Isayama explains why he deserves the title of Humanity’s Strongest

The Tokyo High Court has sentenced Jung-Hyun Park, a former editor of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, to 11 years in prison for the murder of his wife. The court found Park’s claim that his wife committed suicide to be unconvincing.

Incident Details:
Around 2:45 a.m. that morning, Park called emergency services, stating that he found his wife collapsed at the bottom of the stairs near the first-floor entrance upon returning home. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
In a statement made following his wife’s death, Park claimed that his wife had committed suicide. However, an autopsy reportedly revealed signs of strangulation on Kanako’s neck.

Hajime Isayama is responsible for one of the greatest anime ever. He is the mastermind behind Attack on Titan. From 2013 to 2023, Attack on Titan has given one plot twist after another. The fans could not understand which side to vouch for. The season finale left everyone in tears, especially how Eren Jaegar had taken up a bad boy image to protect his friends and help them in becoming the heroes of the modern world.
Even though it was such a great ending, there was a lot of controversy regarding it. Hajime Isayama had to change it at the last moment and also apologized to the fans for not putting in more effort. On top of that, he was asked to write a spin-off series on one of the most beloved characters of the show. But having created a blunder with his magnum opus’ finale, he was afraid to take up another project.

Gege Akutami, creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, revealed that the character Toji Fushiguro was inspired by actor Jason Statham and Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero.
Akutami discussed the influences behind Fushiguro’s character in a Q&a, which was part of a catalog handed out during the recent Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition which was held at Shibuya in July 2024.

The Best Superhero Series to Binge this Summer and Where to Watch Them - Main Image
Marvel Studios and DC may be slowing down in their theatrically released projects, but that just means there’s more room for television-focused projects.
Summer has had some great series so far, and while some have wrapped their season, there is still a load of other comic book adaptations on their way to the small screen.
X-Men ’97
June was buzzing as Disney+ had brought back the classic version of the X-Men from the 90s. Picking up from where the original series left off, Beau DeMayo’s take on the Children of the Atom finds the X-Men picking up the pieces after the death of Professor Xavier; that sounds complicated enough as it is, but they’re suddenly faced with having to have the team be run by their oldest nemesis Magneto.

Eiichiro Oda is a master craftsman who knows how to balance an extremely dark storyline in a way that is palatable to fans of all genres. One Piece is the perfect example of a series that deals with serious problems, but the protagonist takes the burden of stress off from fans.

Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan has left a long-lasting impression on the anime community. It will forever be treated as one of the greatest anime ever. Eren Jaeger sacrificed his life and 80% of the human population to save his friends. The out-of-the-box thinking is what made Attack on Titan such a popular anime. On top of that, several plot twists kept the fans on the edge of their seats.
Instead of using superpowers, he opted for a story where humanity was on the brink of extinction and where giant human-eating titans inhabited most of Paradise Island. Fans would be shocked to know he was inspired by the multiple Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park.

Sanji, the beloved kicking master of One Piece, might have never been the character we know had there not been a major change before his debut. 2023 proved to be a generous year for outstanding anime series. Among them were the long-awaited finale of Attack on Titan, the heartfelt journey of Frieren – and dozens of other worthy titles. Japanese shows have touched on a variety of topics, but only one title has been 100% dedicated to science fiction.
What is Heavenly Delusion About?
The Japan of the future looks very different from what we imagined. Banditry thrives on the remnants of civilization, and mysterious monsters constantly attack the survivors, killing everyone on their way.
A young man, Maru, and his bodyguard, Kiruko, travel through the post-apocalyptic world. Their destination is Heaven that Maru must reach in order to find a person who looks like him – although it is not quite clear why.
And somewhere in this Heaven lives a group of children: they know no troubles and are provided with everything, although they have to live surrounded by huge walls.

Pokemon Go is a great game for some nostalgic fun that’ll make you feel like a trainer in real life while also helping you get some steps in.
The game can also be unintentionally funny, as seen in a post uploaded by a Redditor of a weird visual bug he encountered. It’s too hilarious to brush away, and it might be a great idea for an April Fools update.

It's the end of an era. Following the release of the final episode of "Demon Slayer" season 4, Crunchyroll announced it will release "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" as a trilogy of films to cap off the hugely popular adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge's manga of the same name.
The anime follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon and who decides to join the elite Demon Slayer Corps in order to find a way to turn his younger sister, Nezuko, into a human after she got transformed into a demon. This news may be surprising to some fans, especially considering the show just premiered in 2019 which — despite what the Covid-19 lockdowns did to our brains — was technically not that long ago. What's more, finishing the story with not just one but three films seems like a surprising move when anime movies based on TV shows are most often...

Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer anime series has just finished with the Hashira Training arc, and the fans are gearing up for the next phase of the storyline that is going to mark the beginning of the finale. The Hashira Training arc of Demon Slayer was divided into eight episodes, and every episode was better than the previous one.

In a recent interview, George Wada, CEO of Wit Studio and Production I.G, said that The One Piece which is currently under production at Wit, will address two major flaws of the ongoing adaptation in order to attract new anime fans.
Wada acknowledged that the older 4:3 aspect ratio and animation techniques, along with the 1000 plus episode count might deter new viewers from watching the iconic anime.
He highlighted the need to make One Piece more visually appealing and accessible to younger audiences accustomed to modern animation styles.
“Due to technological advancements, young people who are used to watching modern anime might find the visuals of One Piece, which started airing 25 years ago, difficult to watch because of the different format,” he said.

There are several sacred rules that are followed by anime. These rules are silent but essential. Every isekai protagonist conveniently reincarnates into a suitable alternate world and long monologues need to end before another attack begins. Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball have paved the way for anime and also broken these silent rules.
Eren Jaeger is known for his utter lack of sympathy towards his enemies, and it is evident in every episode of Attack on Titan. Thus, it is no surprise that he has a complete disregard for anime rules. But there is another unexpected character who preceded Eren a long time ago.

Spoiler Alert! This article contains spoilers for Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture.
When Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture was first announced, fans found themselves divided in a dilemma about whether or not a continuation after Lelouch’s era was a good thing. Many found themselves eager to watch the new series while others dreaded its release. There is something about a good series that can get easily ruined if sequels and spin-offs keep getting released.

Naruto suffered from exactly this and is still constantly criticized for it. That is not to say the first episode was a hit and a miss. There was a lot in the episode that could capture an audience’s attention, both old and new. However, it suffered from relying a lot on the older elements of Code Geass to let it stand out on its own.

The latest creation by a fan in Minecraft appears too good to be true. But rest assured, Attack on Titan fans are going to love it. The creation in focus is Shiganshina from the popular anime where people lived in peace until Colossus Titan ruined the day for them.
While it might’ve taken years to build the structure in the story, it took around 65 days for this fan to develop the megastructure. And it certainly is praiseworthy what came out as a result of his hard work. Maybe add some Titans in the game and Minecraft will have its own Attack on Titan.
