Ocean’s Eleven is the best heist film ever made. Let me explain-
Say you’re fresh out of the slammer, you need money, and the only job prospects you have involve running back to the very lifestyle that got you locked up to begin with. Oh, and did I mention your wife also ran off with a rich casino owner? Yeah…Instant conflict anyone? Now, in a situation like this, there’s only one thing you can do. Round up the old crew for a job that promises to be properly epic, high stakes (literally) and of course perfectly stupid enough to excite your friends. So, if you’re looking to dive into the vault of cinematic treasures that is Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 11, or as I call it, the greatest heist movie ever made- then let’s get into it.
Ocean’s Eleven is the 2001 remake of the Rat-Pack-led 60s original.

When Steven Soderbergh remade ratpack favourite Ocean’s 11 in the early 2000s, he not only assembled one of the all-time-great ensemble casts – he reinvigorated the heist movie in the process. First, in 2001, came Ocean’s Eleven, with all its swaggering Vegas charm. Then came Ocean’s Twelve in 2004, bringing greater ambition with multiple European heists. And then, capping it all off in 2007, was the all-glam Ocean’s Thirteen, dialling up the star power even further to deliver one last great score.
With the entire legendary Ocean’s trilogy now available on 4K, it’s the ideal time to revisit the legendary filmsat home – here’s every crew member you need to pull off the ultimate heist.
The Mastermind
Danny Ocean (George Clooney)
The brains of the operation. Danny Ocean always has a scheme and a dream on the go, steps ahead of everyone else – and, crucially, always multiple moves ahead of even the most high-tech casinos.

Despite the fact that audiences these days seem to be less interested in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than they are movies about small plastic playthings and googly-eyed mental health issues, we’re getting another Captain America sequel: Captain America: Brave New World, which presumably finds the new Cap teaming up with the ghost of Aldous Huxley.
The upcoming film is Harrison Ford’s introduction to the MCU, the Hollywood Homicide star is taking over the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from the late William Hurt. And the folks behind the film just couldn’t restrain themselves from inserting a meta-joke about the casting change.
When Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is summoned to meet Ross in the White House, he immediately remarks, “I have to admit, I’m still getting used to the new look.” Ross then awkwardly explains that he had to shave off his mustache for political reasons.

Sam Wilson is ready to pick up the shield, and not a moment too soon.
The first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has dropped. Anthony Mackie’s feature debut as Cap feels more like a thriller from the 1990s, and not just because it has Harrison Ford in a presidential role. Directed by Julius Onah and co-written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman, Brave New World deals with a conspiracy within the White House, which means a lot of folks in nice clothes pulling guns and looking concerned in boardrooms.
But as Captain America: The Winter Soldier taught us, even a paranoid thriller is still an MCU movie, so lets look at the superhero goodness promised by the Brave New World trailer.

There's a brand new status quo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, courtesy of our newest Captain America. For those who didn't end up keeping tabs on 2021's "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" series on Disney+, it's been a long wait to see a payoff to the tease in "Avengers: Endgame," in which Chris Evans' Steve Rogers officially retired from the role of Captain America and passed the mantle down to Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson. That moment has finally arrived with the first teaser for the next film in the series, fittingly titled "Captain America: Brave New World."
That's not the only noteworthy highlight included in the footage today, however. Among the many teases of high-flying action for the superhero formerly known as Falcon, the addition of Giancarlo Esposito as a mysterious villain, and even a certain Red Hulk getting into the action, the murky politics of this fourth...

The sprawling MCU not only includes the movies, but also a plethora of TV series, a fact which may have only come to mainstream attention in recent years due to the release of projects such as Loki, WandaVision, and What If…?

However, the more enlightened fans will know that the MCU’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was arguably the first TV series from the franchise that was met by fans with appreciation. Released in 2013, the 7-season strong show featured Clark Gregg’s Phil Coulson, and introduced several superpowered characters, including Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez and Daisy “Quake” Johnson.
Well, both of those characters are set to make a return to the mainstream MCU via Armor Wars.

In 2019, Don Cheadle received his ninth career Emmy nomination for his work on the first season of Showtime’s “Black Monday.” Although he ultimately came up short in that year’s Best Comedy Actor race, he still made history as the 12th man to compete in that category as the star of multiple series, having previously earned four bids for the same network’s “House of Lies.” Scroll through our photo gallery to find out who else belongs to this special group.
Seven of the dozen actors on this roster took the gold for at least one of their nominated roles. This includes Richard Mulligan and Michael J. Also listed is John Ritter (“Three’s Company”; “Hooperman”; “8 Simple Rules”), who remains the only three-show nominee in the history of either comedy lead category.

Here at JoBlo, we love physical media – Especially 4K discs. To a lot of us, the 4K revolution has really given some of our favourite movies new life, with the format allowing us to see pristine versions of classic films that come the closest to presenting them in a way that allows us to experience them the way first run audiences did when they came out. While DVD and Blu-ray were both great for their time, 4K is miraculous, with movies like The Crow looking better in this format than they have since their original theatrical runs. One of the reasons is that the people doing the 4K restorations usually go back to a movie’s negative to make it look as good as it can, and the people restoring these films are passionate (even if some efforts have been controversial).
Yet, some of our favorite movies still aren’t available in 4K.

The upcoming MCU film, Armor Wars, will adapt elements from one of the most interesting Iron Man storylines in Marvel Comics. The Armor Wars comic was earlier adapted to the MCU in Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3. The upcoming MCU film will continue the narratives of these films, where Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes will be tasked with stopping evil forces from appropriating Tony’s legacy suits.

Paul Scheer would absolutely call himself a go-getter. After attending NYU, he forged his way through the New York improv scene, eventually ending up as a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade. Now decades into his comedy career, he acts, writes, hosts multiple podcasts and his own Twitch channel. So when he set out to author his first book — what became the memoir Joyful Recollections of Trauma — he was surprised to be surprised by what it required. Scheer spent months working on the book before taking it out to publishers — something that isn’t often done in the world of celebrity nonfiction, where it’s standard to sell on a pitch alone — and even hired his own copy editor to get every page up to his standards. He also took charge of Joyful‘s marketing plan, which included holding signing events in airport bookstores.
“It can be very isolating,” he says.

Avengers: Endgame sits at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with more than 550 reviews. However, with many critics turning on superhero movies in recent years, there's been an increase in "superhero fatigue" talk and a general, often overly harsh, criticism of the genre.
However, one person who won't put up with the 2019 movie being torn down in any way is singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson.
In a new video posted on The Kelly Clarkson Show's YouTube channel, the American Idol winner responds to negative Letterboxd reviews. In the case of Avengers: Endgame, she was having none of it.
"Who gave this a bad review?" Clarkson wondered before mocking critics: "'Ugh, it’s just these big epic Marvel things. These big epic superhero movies.' Fans love them. Not everything has to be Shawshank Redemption. Whatever."
The review also referenced Martin Scorsese's scathing assessment of comic book adaptations to which Clarkson said,...

Of course — spoiler alert — the character’s heroic death in Avengers: Endgame would seem to rule out Downey’s and his character’s involvement in future MCU efforts, but you never know. (Stranger things have happened in the MCU.) Fans’ hopes have only been piqued by a new interview Downey gave to Variety with Jodie Foster, in which he said he’s “surprisingly open” to reprising his role if given the opportunity.

Defining a major turning point in his career, Robert Downey Jr immortalized himself in popular culture with his portrayal of Iron Man in the 2008 flick that kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first place. The character gained unanimous love from fans thanks to his charisma, genius-level intellect, and most importantly, the several suits that he built, improving each one after learning from his mistakes.

In the medium of cinema, sequels still feel like a relatively recent phenomenon, especially as studios continue to seek to exploit intellectual property and squeeze as much blood (re: money) out of the same stone as possible. Yet despite the obvious capitalistic aims of film franchises, cinematic universes, and what have you, the tradition of continuing a story and/or telling new tales featuring evergreen characters is very ancient.
The "Mad Max" films, as conceived by the series' mastermind, George Miller, deliberately seek to continue those ancient, mythical traditions of storytelling rather than service more modern concepts of how to present a serialized narrative. The MCU currently has numerous projects in development, both movies and shows, despite Iger’s announcement that their creative output will significantly decrease to 2-3 movies and 2 live-action shows per year.

One such project is ‘Armor Wars.’ Initially conceived as a movie, it was redeveloped into a show, and now it’s back to being a movie again. According to the production schedule, ‘Armor Wars’ is set to begin filming on January 6, 2025, in Atlanta, USA. Plot: The incredible true story of Hollywood revolution meeting social revolution: it’s a wild caper of Black Panther founder Huey Newton escaping from the FBI to Cuba with the help of famed producer Bert Schneider in an impossibly elaborate plan – involving a fake movie production — that goes wrong every way it possibly can. And somehow, it’s all true. Mostly.
Review: The stories of revolutionary political figures and social reformers have been popular for big and small screen adaptations for decades. There seems to be more focus on the 1960s and 1970s than any other period in American history. The 2021 film Judas and the Black Messiah looked at controversial figure Fred Hampton, while this year’s Shirley chronicled Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm’s run for United States President. While these and the stories of Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X have made for acclaimed productions, the story of Black...

In the opening narration of The Big Cigar, actor André Holland, who portrays Black Panther Party co-founder Huey P. Newton in the Apple TV+ biographical drama, delivers a disclaimer about the events that will be portrayed onscreen: “The story I’m about to tell you is true, at least mostly true, at least how I remember it,” Holland says. “But it is coming through the lens of Hollywood, so let’s see how much of my story they’re really willing to show.”
The statement both echoes concerns Holland had about taking on the project and sets the tone for the element of humor that underlies the retelling of Newton’s first dealings with the Hollywood machine when bigtime producer Bert Schneider, in his zeal for social justice causes, nearly begs the revolutionary leader to help him spread his message of resistance. Biting off far more than he expected to chew,...

Have you ever wondered how a single scene could redefine the trajectory of a character we’ve come to love? Numerous deleted scenes starring Iron Man throughout the character’s MCU history could’ve altered the direction of the franchise. Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., is certainly one of the most significant heroes in the MCU, having been the character whose tale once served as the catalyst for the film series’ narrative.

That being said, there were, nonetheless, numerous scenes in Jon Favreau’s film, Iron Man, that were never incorporated into the franchise’s canon. One such scene included when Tony found himself in a precarious situation during his battle on the Freeway with Obadiah Stane, dressed as Iron Monger.
During this moment, Terrence Howard’s character, Rhodey, came to rescue Iron Man from a brutal beatdown at the hands of Stane.

In “The Big Cigar,” contradictions weigh heavily on Huey P. Newton (played by the magnificent André Holland). He sees them everywhere. For instance, Huey notes that the NRA contradicted their general ideology by helping the GOP pass gun control laws in the 1960s, all because they were afraid of the group Newton co-founded: the Black Panthers. He’s also keenly aware of the contradiction inherent to a Black man being “set free” from a prison of bars and stone into the prison of the American way. “Contrary to propagated belief, I’m not living to die, but I am refusing to live without liberation,” Huey says during his opening voice-over narration.
He even acknowledges the contradiction inherent to “The Big Cigar” itself, saying, “The story I’m about to tell you is true. […] But it is coming through the lens of Hollywood, so let’s see how much of my...
