The USC Scripter Awards, which honor the authors of printed works and the screenwriters who adapt their stories, have awarded both film and TV projects for the first time ever.
This year, The Big Short took home the prize for film, with HBO's Show Me a Hero taking home the first win for television.
The 2016 Scripter selection committee selected the finalists from a field of 73 film and 18 television adaptations. Last year, The Imitation Game took home the prize. Winners were announced at a Feb. 20 gala, held at USC's Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library.
