It’s official: Amazon Prime Day 2024 will take place on July 16 and 17.
Amazon announced the dates for its 10th shopping event with the help of Megan Thee Stallion, who released an original song and music video, “It’s Prime Day,” ahead of her new album, Megan. Prime Day 2024 will once again feature thousands of deals online over a 48-hour period, all exclusive to Amazon Prime members.

When Is Amazon Prime Day 2024?
Amazon has confirmed that Prime Day 2024 will take place on Tuesday, July 16 starting at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET to Wednesday, July 17 until midnight PT. It follows the e-commerce giant’s tradition of running the sale across two days during the second week of July.
Amazon Prime Day 2024: Shopping Tips, How to Earn Credits
Just as in past years, Prime members can sign up for alerts for personalized deals on online doorbusters ahead of the event. Those who don’t yet have an Amazon Prime membership can ensure access to the sale by getting a 30-day free trial.
You can stay updated on the best Prime Day 2024 discounts by signing up for the invite-only deals program, subscribing to deal alerts through the Prime Day event page, following your favorite brands, using the Amazon Shopping app and setting reminders via the Alexa voice assistant. You’ll receive personalized push notifications on recently viewed items and more, and you can ask Alexa to add products to your Cart, Wish List or Save for Later list and then request deal notifications on those items.
Eligible Prime members earn a $200 Amazon gift card when they are approved for the Prime Visa credit card from June 27 through July 24, or an $80 Amazon gift card upon approval for a Prime Store Card from July 12 to 17. Learn more about the offers here.
Prime members can also earn a $20 credit by downloading the Amazon Photos app and automatically backing up their phone images.

According to the e-commerce giant, shoppers can expect to save up to 40 percent on Sony headphones, 30 percent off the Peloton products and deep discounts on Clinique, Allbirds, KitchenAid, Kiehl’s and other popular brands. Do You Need to Be a Prime Member to Shop Amazon Prime Day?
In short, yes. As the name suggests, Prime Day is Amazon’s deal event exclusively for Prime members, so you’ll want to sign up for a membership before you start shopping. The good news: Amazon has a 30-day free trial so you can test out a subscription before you commit. Subscriptions auto-renew at $14.99 per month or $139 per year.
If you’re a student between the ages of 18 to 24, you can try Prime Student free for six months; after that, pay only $7.49 monthly or $69 annually.
While some deals will be made available to all Amazon shoppers, the best Prime Day deals are reserved for Prime members.
