Outlook

Afternoon thunderstorms will develop mostly in eastern Utah on Saturday afternoon and in southern and central Utah on Sunday afternoon. Storms will not be a widespread what developed on Friday, however, an isolated severe thunderstorm and isolated flash flooding will still be a possibility especially in flood-prone areas like slot canyons and dry washes. An isolated thunderstorm or two will be possible in northern Utah but the main story for the north will be the heat. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings will be in effect through Sunday night for much of northern Utah including portions of the Wasatch Front as temperatures continue to run 5-15 degrees above average. - Brett Benson, KSL Weather 6.22.24
