OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KSWO) - Oklahoma lawmakers have filed a bill mirroring Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay” law, along with legislation aimed at keeping transgender minors from receiving treatment for their dysphoria.

The first bill is modeled after the Florida law, and would ban educators from teaching about sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through fifth grade.

It would also require school boards to notify a student’s patents about any changes “related to their mental health, emotional, or physical health or well-being.”

The second bill, filed in the senate, would ban anyone under the age of 18 from undergoing any gender affirming treatment or procedure.

Physicians offering these treatments would face discipline from the State Medical Board, and could have their licenses revoked or suspended.
