The George area is currently being blasted by strong Northerly winds, which has also resulted in the higher temperatures, and will see the fire departments on the lookout for any signs of fires. Nature has her way of showcasing the signs of the winds, and can be seen in these images. These clouds are called Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds, named after Hermann von Helmholtz and William Thomson, Lord Kelvin, physicists who studied turbulent airflow.
