'Why not list all the penises we've seen?' Jane Fonda and Lena Dunham slam Seth MacFarlane's We Saw Your Boobs skit as controversy continues over Oscar opening
Jane Fonda and Lena Dunham are not amused.
Seth MacFarlane's Oscar opening to the tune We Saw Your Boobs appears to have rattled both stars following the crude tribute at Sunday's Academy Awards.
Writing off the performance on her blog on Wednesday, two-time Oscar-winner Fonda criticised the skit as 'neither appropriate or funny' [sic], and chastised the comedian for orchestrating such an immature song and dance number about the female anatomy.

Not amused: Jane Fonda, left, on the red carpet at Sunday's Oscars, and Lena Dunham, right, at the Writers Guild East Coast Awards on February 17, have slammed Seth MacFarlane's opening number
The blog post, entitled, My Night at the Oscars, chronicled Fonda's evening at the prize-giving and her run-ins with the likes of George Clooney, Martin Short and Ben Affleck at two star-studded after-parties.
But it was MacFarlane's skit that evoked contempt, compared to her otherwise glittering memory of the night.
'What I really didn’t like was the song and dance number about seeing actresses boobs,' the actress wrote.
'I agree with someone who said, if they want to stoop to that, why not list all the penises we’ve seen? Better yet, remember that this is a telecast seen around the world watched by families with their children and to many this is neither appropriate or funny.'
Fonda, 75, was referring to MacFarlane's catchy tune, met with mixed reviews from critics, audience members and his Family Guy fans.
Alone on the stage, he began by delivering a series of one-liners, most of which scored, before he rattled off a list of perfunctory celebrity bashing jokes, including one that took a stab at the Academy itself.

The stage is all his: Critics predicted the Family Guy creator's humour may be tough to swallow

The song soon kicked in, with MacFarlane repeating the titular phrase, and calling out several actresses in the audience that have exposed their breasts on screen.
Backed by an all men's choir, he continued through pre-recorded cutaways that featured some actresses playing along with the joke.
Naomi Watts looked horrified when he mentioned her name; Charlize Theron bowed her head low and avoided the camera at the mention of her breast-exposing performance in Monster; Jennifer Lawrence relished at the nod, giving a glad hands up to the cameras.
And in a matter of moments, #WeSawYourBoobs became a popular hashtag on Twitter and McFarlane was one of the trending topics on the micro-blogging site.
The performance also incited a stinging response from Girls creator and star Lena Dunham.
'Hey ragers. "The ones who aren't advancing the cause" I mentioned aren't always, or mostly, women. Case in point: I saw your boobs,' the 26-year-old tweeted on Tuesday.

Horrified: Naomi Watt's face nearly went white as she played along with the joke
Honourable mention: Jennifer Lawrence reacted with glee when her name was thrown in the skit
The remark followed a rumination on Anne Hathaway's dress change and her tearful appearance in the Oscars press room after taking home the award for best supporting actress for Les Miserables.
'Ladies: Anne Hathaway is a feminist and she has amazing teeth,' she tweeted. 'Let's save our bad attitudes for the ones who aren't advancing the cause,' she wrote.
Eager to put the debate to bed, she followed-up: 'Now I've said something murky about women's lib and will return to eating edamame/thinking about moving to Austin like I always do!'
Fonda didn't let her criticism die with MacFarlane's performance of Boobs - she also slammed the comedian for making a sex joke about nine-year-old best actress nominee Quvenzhané Wallis.
Candid: Lena Dunham offered her feelings on the musical number via Twitter on Tuesday
Putting it to rest: The Girls creator and star later attempted to write off the controversy
'To give you an idea how young she is. It'll be 16 years before she's too old for Clooney,' he mused in an attempted dig at serial dater George.
Fonda ranted: 'I also didn’t like the remark made about Quvenzhane and Clooney, or the stuff out of Ted’s mouth and all the comments about what women do to get thin for their dresses. Waaaay too much stuff about women and bodies, as though that’s what defines us,' she wrote.
But the evening was not a lost cause for the veteran actress, who admitted she was thoroughly entertained watching her colleagues take home honours.
She continued: 'I can say this: I’ve been to more Oscars than I can count and it never gets boring. I am still thrilled to see all the amazing talents there, in flesh and blood.'
