Beloved Disney-themed café in the heart of Hollywood is forced to close after 78 years
A Snow White-themed restaurant famous for its murals painted by original Disney artists appears to be the latest business to fall victim to LA's business downturn - closing after 78 years.
Photos show the Snow White Café, at 6769 Hollywood Boulevard - next door to the Hollywood Wax Museum - entirely gutted, and, from what can be seen, all its iconic imagery stripped away.
The café was originally opened by a friend of Walt Disney's in 1946, who had the moviemaker's animators specifically paint the walls.
The Snow White theme was the result - one that's left its mark on tourists and locals alike, enthralled not only by the fairytale setting, but the good food.
Stationed right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the tourist trap seems to be the latest in LA subjected to an unceremonious closure. This one, however, hits a famously decorated, albeit weathered, dive that had long served tourists to the strip, as LA stores continue to face closures.

'The murals depict scenes from the film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and they are still on display today,' the eatery's website says, as calls Monday went to a line that appears disconnected.
The dated restaurant's Instagram also appears to be down, though its Facebook - which touts its fare and fairytale setting - is still up an running.
DailyMail.com has reached out to the eatery via email for more information, as calls to the wax museum next door by KTLA - the first to report the rumored closure - yielded some information.
A staffer there Sunday confirmed the cafe would usually be open, but was inexplicably closed.
The restaurant lists its hours as being from 12 pm to 12 am daily, and bills itself as 'a must-visit for anyone in Hollywood.'
'Stop by today and take a step back in time,' the bio adds - before detailing the lounge's rich history.

Those murals were nowhere to be found when Vintage Los Angeles posted photos of the gutted storefront Sunday, sending shockwaves throughout the local community.
'This is sad. I do hope someone saved the sweet artwork inside. I'm glad I visited last September,' wrote one onlooker, sharing a photo from her visit.
'Noooo, I'm from Australia & was only there last November, was such a cute and quirky little place!' wrote another, also sharing images.
'I truly feel the best hamburger I ever ate was from Snow White's Cafe,' said someone else, citing the bar's perhaps best known menu item.
'And the place had such a great vibe. The L.A. that I lived in a long time ago seems to be dying.'
As mentioned, Snow White Café was set smack dab on Hollywood Boulevard, feet away from the star covered sidewalk that is the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
