Ralph Waldo Emerson
“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson , Self-Reliance: An Excerpt from Collected Essays, First Series

Brandon Sanderson
“I know, better than anyone else, that there are no heroes coming to save us. There are no good Epics. None of them protect us. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
Brandon Sanderson, Steelheart

Robert Adams
“Baseball's Sad Lexicon

These are the saddest of possible words:
Tinker to Evers to Chance.
Trio of Bear-cubs, fleeter than birds,
Tinker to Evers to Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Giant hit into a double --
Words that are weighty with nothing but trouble:
Tinker to Evers to Chance.”
Franklin Robert Adams

Percy Bysshe Shelley
“Ozymandias"

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
'My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Percy Bysshe Shelley, Rosalind and Helen: A Modern Eclogue With Other Poems

Benjamin Franklin
“On the whole, sir, I can not help expressing a wish that every member of the convention who may still have objections to it, would, with me, on this occasion, doubt a little of his own infallibility, and, to make manifest our unanimity, put his name to this instrument.”
Benjamin Franklin

Jo Yeah, I was quite sad when Georgina and Seth broke up so I do hope they can work things out in the future. Maybe now he has this 'stain' on his soul she won't take so much of his life energy if they do get back together

Betty Hello, STEVEN,

It's great to see my learned friend here. I've been a member a long time but don't visit here often. As you know, Amazon reviewing takes a lot of time. I receive about three invites a day from GR member, though, and I always accept. They're a very active group of people here and there's lots to do here. But I haven't learned to navigate the site yet, but eventually.

I notice you have no books on your shelf yet. Why not start by putting my three on your shelf? Thanks, pal.

Oh, I just commented on your two latest reviews at Amazon. Great, as always.

Hugs - Betty Dravis
