A teenager has been arrested after a delivery driver was assaulted by a masked group in a terrifying carjacking in Tipton. The victim, aged in his 60s, was punched in his face and knocked to the ground in Bayleys Lane at around 8.30am on June 3.

His keys were stolen and his vehicle was taken. Police today arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery.

He was taken into custody for questioning. West Midlands Police today urged anyone with information to contact the force.

A force spokesperson said: "We've acted on information and arrested a teenager following a carjacking in Tipton. A delivery driver was confronted by a masked group in Bayleys Lane at around 8.30am on 3 June.

"A man in his 60s was punched in his face, and knocked to the ground, as his keys and vehicle were taken. Following enquiries we today detained a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
