We were a bit unlucky there imo. Rarely see a catch like Wood’s overturned and Rashid was unfortunate not to get even more from his bowling. Rabada getting a bit lucky with Livingstone’s wicket sealed it.
25 needed from 3 with 2 set batsman and a decent few wickets remaining, should be chased. Too lose by 7 runs from that position is very poor.
Losing that wicket was always going to really hurt us though. Relying on Curran against the wind is not ideal.
It's not ideal, but I think it should be chased. To get back ahead in the game and than to fall 7 runs short is really poor. Hopefully they don't regret it, could be relying on NRR again.
Should do but you need a reliable closer and if their bowlers get it right in those penultimate overs it goes against you.
Maybe a lesson to not go to early! Talk of Mott and Buttler resigning on here a few weeks back, hopefully the football team can follow by example.
I think it's a lesson in balancing the team. Dropping Jacks and ultimately getting Curran back just makes the team look so much more rounded. The South Africa result was disappointing, but that ultimately came down to one player - De Kock in the powerplay.
The tournament is a farce with India getting the 1:30am slot for their TV audience.. I don't care who we play but 1:30am start time BST is not ideal. India always seem to get their way
I think it’s the Other way round. India’s semi is 3.30pm BST to mean it starts at 8pm India time. If it was 1.30am in the Uk it would be 6am in India.
He bats like his Dad. A century for Rocky Flintoff as he helped England U19’s to victory over Young Lions invitational XI! 👏🌹 #RedRoseTogether pic.twitter.com/BmMexBxUFf— Lancashire Lightning (@lancscricket) June 24, 2024
So England will play India in Guyana on Thursday.A couple of things to note:- the forecast is less than ideal- India will qualify if the game is washed out having won their groupUnusually, this second semi-final has no rain-reserve day. The first one in Trinidad does. pic.twitter.com/isJEA58Dtl— Henry Moeran (@henrymoeranBBC) June 24, 2024
How insane is this! If it rains then one team automatically goes through due to a technicality. I mean a semi final to be decided like this would be nuts! Who makes up these rules and who puts a World Cup in the Caribbean at this time of the year?
