Well they improved a bit and only fell seven short in the end.

We were a bit unlucky there imo. Rarely see a catch like Wood’s overturned and Rashid was unfortunate not to get even more from his bowling.

Rabada getting a bit lucky with Livingstone’s wicket sealed it.

25 needed from 3 with 2 set batsman and a decent few wickets remaining, should be chased. Too lose by 7 runs from that position is very poor.

Losing that wicket was always going to really hurt us though. Relying on Curran against the wind is not ideal.

It's not ideal, but I think it should be chased. To get back ahead in the game and than to fall 7 runs short is really poor. Hopefully they don't regret it, could be relying on NRR again.

Should do but you need a reliable closer and if their bowlers get it right in those penultimate overs it goes against you.

The issues seems rain could void the USA match and that would mean NRR.

18.4 overs to get 116 will clinch a semi final place.

Buttler wants this over quickly. 5 sixes in the over, only broken by a wide.

Gives a chance, not large, of topping the group and avoiding India in the semi.

Quite amusing after everything that we are now the first semi-finalists.

Maybe a lesson to not go to early! Talk of Mott and Buttler resigning on here a few weeks back, hopefully the football team can follow by example.

I think it's a lesson in balancing the team. Dropping Jacks and ultimately getting Curran back just makes the team look so much more rounded. The South Africa result was disappointing, but that ultimately came down to one player - De Kock in the powerplay.

2nd place after SA eke out another narrow win. Likely India next.

If Afghanistan beat Bangladesh and India beat Australia will the Aussies be out?

Yes. Could also go out if they get stuffed and Afghanistan lose narrowly.

The tournament is a farce with India getting the 1:30am slot for their TV audience.. I don't care who we play but 1:30am start time BST is not ideal. India always seem to get their way

I think it’s the Other way round. India’s semi is 3.30pm BST to mean it starts at 8pm India time. If it was 1.30am in the Uk it would be 6am in India.

Ahh ok. Still feel that it's a bit silly that the games are based on if India are playing.

India beat Australia, so all in Afghanistan's hands.

How insane is this! If it rains then one team automatically goes through due to a technicality. I mean a semi final to be decided like this would be nuts! Who makes up these rules and who puts a World Cup in the Caribbean at this time of the year?
