COVID-19 Safety at Barnes & Noble
COVID-19 is impacting our country in an unprecedented way. We are proud to be members of your communities and our priority is the health and safety of our customers and booksellers. Below are a few of the safety precautions we are taking in our stores along with options for curbside pickup, in-store pickup, and online delivery.
Our Stores
- We continue to follow any state and local ordinances and guidelines regarding face coverings for customers and employees in each of our stores.
- Enhanced cleaning is performed throughout the day.
- Protective barriers are in use at our registers to separate customers and booksellers.
- Curbside delivery is available for Buy Online, Pick Up In Store orders.

Online Orders
We understand not everyone will be able to visit a store at this time. BN.com is available for you to place orders 24/7. Our NOOK app is available to download for free on iOS and Android to access eBooks and digital magazines on your mobile device.
International Orders
Based on the ongoing developments surrounding COVID-19, we have reinstated international shipping from the U.S. to most countries. Orders to countries with stringent or evolving policies may experience delays, but we are working to deliver your order as quickly as possible. Curbside Pickup for Online Orders
We are offering curbside pickup for online orders. Curbside pickup is available at all stores with an exterior entrance, and in-store pickup is available in all stores. Contact your participating B&N store for hours and additional details. Curbside Pickup information is available here.
Our Distribution Centers
In order to keep our employees and customers safe, we have substantially changed operations in our two Distribution Centers to follow the latest guidelines from the CDC and health officials. We have enhanced cleaning, including regular deep cleans. Social distancing is maintained by a number of measures, including marked floors and changed spacing at work stations to keep people at least 6-feet apart. We require employees to stay at home if they feel ill or for any other reason are uncomfortable coming to work. Notice of these and other policies are posted throughout the facilities. We appreciate all the hard work and efforts of our staff in the Distribution Centers.
